What Questions Should You Not Ask an Astrologer?

A free astrology reading, automated or from a real astrologer, is built to answer certain kinds of questions well: timing, general themes, self-reflection. It's built to answer other kinds poorly or not at all, and knowing the difference upfront saves a disappointing few minutes.

Medical, legal and financial specifics

"Do I have condition X", "will I win this court case" or "should I make this specific investment" are outside what any astrology reading, free or paid, is equipped to answer responsibly. These need a licensed professional with your actual medical, legal or financial details, not planetary positions.

Yes/no questions about other people's choices

"Does he love me" or "will she come back" ask astrology to report on someone else's internal state and free will, which even within the tradition's own logic isn't really what a chart, yours or theirs, can reliably describe. A reading can describe your own emotional climate around the situation far more usefully than it can predict another person's decision.

Exact dates for major life events

"What exact date will I get married" or "what day will I get the job" asks for a level of precision that even detailed traditional timing techniques (dashas, transits) aren't built to deliver; they describe favourable windows and themes, not calendar-exact predictions.

Death, lifespan and other predictions best left alone

Serious traditional astrology itself treats questions about death and exact lifespan as something most practitioners deliberately decline to answer, for the same reason a responsible reading here does: there's no ethical or reliable way to answer it, and the attempt causes real harm regardless of accuracy.

What actually works well instead

Questions framed around timing and theme ("is this a good month to make a career change", "what should I focus on this season") play to what the tradition and the tool are actually built to do, and tend to produce genuinely useful, specific answers.

Frequently asked questions

Can an astrologer tell me if I'll get a specific job?

Not reliably. A reading can describe whether the general timing looks favourable for career moves, not predict a specific outcome with a specific employer.

Why won't this site answer questions about death or exact lifespan?

Serious traditional practice treats this as something to responsibly decline, since there's no reliable way to answer it and doing so can cause real harm.

What questions actually work well for a free astrology reading?

Timing and theme-based questions: whether a period looks favourable for a decision, and what to focus on, rather than yes/no verdicts on specific real-world outcomes.

Astrology, tarot, numerology and related practices are offered for reflection and entertainment and are not medical, legal or financial advice.
