Karwa Chauth is observed on the fourth day (Chaturthi) after the full moon in the month of Kartik. Married women, and some unmarried women and men, fast from sunrise until moonrise for the well-being of their spouse. The fast is broken by seeing the moon (often through a sieve), offering water (arghya) and then looking at the spouse.

The most important detail on the day is moonrise, because the fast can only be broken after the moon is seen. Moonrise is much later in the west of India than in the east, and different again in the US, UK and Gulf. Pick your city below.
