What is the difference between Vedic and Western astrology?
Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac tied to the seasons. Vedic astrology (Jyotish) uses the sidereal zodiac tied to the stars, so signs differ by about 24 degrees, and it emphasises the Moon, nakshatras and planetary periods (dashas). Many people use both for different perspectives.
