Manglik Dosha Cancellation: When Does It Actually Not Apply?
Manglik dosha (Mangal Dosha) gets checked, and often feared, far more than its traditional exceptions get explained. Classical texts actually list a long set of conditions under which the dosha is considered cancelled or significantly weakened, and most charts flagged as "Manglik" qualify for at least one of them.
What creates Manglik dosha in the first place
Mars placed in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house from the ascendant (and in some systems, also from the Moon and from Venus) is traditionally read as Manglik dosha, associated with friction in marriage.
The most commonly cited cancellations
Mars in its own sign (Aries or Scorpio) or in its sign of exaltation (Capricorn) is traditionally said to significantly reduce or cancel the dosha. Mars aspected by or conjunct Jupiter, considered a natural benefic, is another commonly cited cancellation. Mars in the 12th house from certain ascendants, or in specific nakshatras, is treated as milder by some traditions too.

Why "both Manglik" is the most common remedy
When both people in a proposed match are Manglik, the doshas are traditionally considered to balance each other out, which is why this is by far the most frequently cited resolution in practice rather than a formal spiritual remedy.
What a real check actually involves
A proper Manglik assessment doesn't stop at "is Mars in one of the six houses" - it also checks Mars's sign, its aspects, its strength, and the specific house involved, since traditional texts treat a Manglik placement in the 12th house very differently from one in the 7th house, for example.
