About Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of Ganesha and begins the ten-day Ganeshotsav, ending on Anant Chaturdashi with visarjan. The idol is installed on Chaturthi at midday (Madhyahna), the time Ganesha is said to have been born.
It is celebrated in homes and elaborate public pandals, especially across Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Telangana.
