Wedding of Ram and Sita

Vivah Panchami 2026

Monday, 14 December 2026

Vivah Panchami is on Monday 14 December 2026, marking the wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita on Margashirsha Shukla Panchami.

Vivah Panchami celebrates the marriage of Lord Rama and Sita, remembered most strongly in Ayodhya, Janakpur in Nepal and the Mithila region. It falls on the Shukla Paksha Panchami of the month of Margashirsha (Agahan).

In 2026 the Panchami tithi runs from about 4:48 PM on 13 December to about 7:16 PM on 14 December (Delhi), so the day is observed on Monday 14 December, when Panchami is in force at sunrise. Devotees read the Ramcharitmanas wedding episode, hold a symbolic wedding procession and offer prayers for a happy married life.
