Tulsi Vivah 2026: date, timings and what to know
Tulsi Vivah is on Saturday 21 November 2026, the day after Dev Uthani Ekadashi. It marks the symbolic marriage of the Tulsi plant to Lord Vishnu and the start of the wedding season.
Tulsi Vivah is the ceremonial marriage of the Tulsi (holy basil) plant, a form of Goddess Lakshmi, to Lord Vishnu in the form of Shaligram or Krishna. It is performed after Vishnu wakes from his four-month sleep on Prabodhini (Dev Uthani) Ekadashi, and it opens the Hindu wedding season.
The usual day is Kartik Shukla Dwadashi, which in 2026 begins at about 6:32 AM on Saturday 21 November and ends at about 4:57 AM on Sunday 22 November (Delhi), so the evening ceremony is on 21 November. Some families hold it on the Ekadashi evening (20 November) or on any day up to Kartik Purnima (24 November), so follow your own family custom.
