South-Facing House Vastu
South-facing homes have a mixed reputation in Vastu, but many are considered perfectly good when the entrance and internal layout are planned correctly. The direction is ruled by Yama and represents stability and strength.

Best entrance position
Place the main door in the South-South-East or the middle-south portion, avoiding the South-West corner of the south wall. A door too close to the South-West is considered weak.

- Good for heavy, solid construction
- Many successful homes are south-facing when planned well
Watch out for
- Keep the South-West heavy and closed, and the North-East light and open
- Avoid a main door in the South-West corner
- Make sure the North and East sides have open space or windows

Kitchen in the South-East, master bedroom in the South-West, prayer room in the North-East, and open space in the North and East.
